Brand Design
A Fashionable Pair
MiresBall captures the essence of the Gordon Rush brand

San Diego, August 15, 2007—Gordon Rush, a leading American menswear brand, recently selected MiresBall, one of the largest independent brand design firms in Southern California, to develop its first comprehensive visual system.

Since the launch of its first men’s footwear collection in 1998, Gordon Rush has become known for its modern, masculine designs. With an established client base—through high-end retailers such as Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue—the company now plans to expand its footwear and accessory lines and extend into new product categories such as men’s clothing.

To fuel this business expansion, MiresBall is collaborating with Gordon Rush to produce a visual system. Marked by a sleek photography style and crisp, refined identity system, the updated look-and-feel communicates the attributes at the heart of the Gordon Rush brand: a clean, contemporary aesthetic, impeccable craftsmanship and a strong lifestyle sensibility.

The new visual system will be rolled out across a range of pieces, including seasonal “Look Books,“ identity materials and a media kit.

For years Scott Mires, principal/creative director for MiresBall, sent Gordon Rush, the company’s founder and design visionary, handwritten notes highlighting the MiresBall team’s work shaping the Taylor Guitars brand. “From the moment I purchased my first pair of Gordon Rush shoes, I was immediately struck by the similarity between the two brands—the sensual shapes, amazing quality and surprising design elements. With each new Taylor catalog, I included a note touching on the common threads in both brands.”

The simple yet highly personalized strategy worked. According to Rush, MiresBall was the top choice because of the firm’s fastidious approach to design. “We are passionate about delivering beautiful, impeccably executed designs to our customers. MiresBall clearly shares the same commitment to excellence.”

“Gordon Rush embodies the best of American fashion design, and I am anxious to help him solidify his reputation as a fashion icon,” said Mires. An initial rollout of the visual program is scheduled for August.
